Decades of Experience in Sustainable Water Solutions

About Artesian Bottleless Water

At Artesian Bottleless Water, we’ve been proudly serving the water needs of our customers since 1955. Our mission is simple: to provide sustainable, cost-effective, and efficient water and ice purification systems and industry-leading service to match. With decades of experience and a commitment to excellence, we’ve built a reputation as a trusted partner for businesses across the United States.

“Design Adequately, Build it with Care, Sell it with Service”

A Brief History

Our story began in October 1950 when Walter M. Stead and Ralph A. Bachwich founded Michigan Soft Water Company, introducing manual water softeners for homes and businesses. From the start through 1970, we rapidly grew, expanding our locations across the Midwest and as far as Fairbanks, Alaska. In 2002, our Vice President of Service Operations, Michael Foyteck, and his wife Lisa acquired Artesian, Inc., leading us through an era of innovation and growth. The birth of our bottleless water division, Artesian Pure Infinity, in 2014 marked a significant milestone. Since then, we’ve gone through various changes, including our name, but our missions and ideals remain the same. Today, with over 90 employees and 235,000 consumers across 14 locations, we continue to uphold our founders’ motto: “Design Adequately, Build it with Care, and Sell it with Service.”

Let’s Celebrate

Work Hard, Play Hard, and Give Back

At Artesian Bottleless Water, we believe in celebrating our successes together. Each year, our team comes together for a yearly awards ceremony in January and the prestigious President’s Club Trip to a tropical paradise in February. But our commitment extends beyond just working hard and playing hard—we also believe in giving back.

We are proud to partner with the Bottleless Nation Charitable Foundation for our charitable initiatives. The BNCF is dedicated to reducing plastics in the bottleless water and ice marketplace and funding initiatives that promote environmental clean-up and support water-insecure communities in the U.S. and abroad. In 2024, we donated 10% of our 2023 collected installation dollars, totaling nearly $30,000, to the BNCF in support of two impactful charities: Keep America Beautiful® and charity: water. At Artesian Bottleless Water, we’re not just a workplace—we’re a community that cares.
